A native of Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Payne received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1983 where he was selected as a Drennen Scholar and was named to Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Virginia Hospital and moved to Cartersville where he opened his medical practice in 1986. He has served as Chairman of the Board for the Scottish Rite Hospital Physician Hospital Alliance and The Children's Healthcare Network. Currently, he serves on the board of The Children's Care Network at CHOA. For 10 years he served on the community Physician Advisory Council for CHOA, giving advice on system strategy from a community physician's viewpoint. Dr. Payne has been honored to be selected by Castle Connolly as an Atlanta Top Doctor in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Dr. Payne has many other areas interest including leading multiple medical mission trips in West Africa, serving as Medical director of TeenPact Leadership Schools National Convention, serving on the board of trustees for Brewton Parker College and in mulitple capacities at his church as well. Dr. Payne enjoys hiking, alpine skiing and reading. Most importantly he is the father of one son.
Dr. Young graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and did his Pediatric Residency at Emory University School of Medicine. He has been in practice in Cartersville/Acworth since 1980 and is co-founder of Cartersville Pediatric Associates, PC. Dr. Young is board certified in Pediatrics.
Ms. Terry received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Emory University and obtained a Master of Science degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Emory. She joined Cartersville Pediatric Associates in 1999.
Ms. Hamrick received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Kennesaw State University and obtained her Masters of Science degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She joined Cartersville Pediatric Associates in July 2012.
